Presentation of investment opportunities in wood processing industry, mining and infrastructure in the Republic of Srpska was organized today by the Ministry for Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation, for representatives of the Embassy of Azerbaijan and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade with head office in Romania.

We presented investment opportunities in the fields of wood processing industry, infrastructure with a special focus on Banja Luka Airport, as a potential location for investment in mining. In a way, this is preparation for a business forum to be held in February, which will be of regional nature, organized by the Government of the Republic of Srpska and Government of Azerbaijan and coordinated by the Ministry for Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation and Chamber of Commerce of the RS, as well as other economic institutions of the countries of the region – said for the press the Minister for Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zeljka Cvijanovic.

She also said that, after today’s presentation held in the Republic of Srpska Government building, the representatives of Azerbaijan Embassy and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade would visit tomorrow business facilities in Srpska, including DI Vlasenica Vlasenica, Novi Mermer Sekovici and Nova Romanija Sokolac.

This is an opportunity for us to open up to investments from Azerbaijan and this is the way to present our projects, legal opportunities and available potentials – added Minister Cvijanovic.

- The stance of the state of Azerbaijan is to develop equal cooperation in BiH. All projects and donations implemented in Sarajevo shall be implemented at the same scale in both Banja Luka and Mostar, regardless whether they are economic or cultural projects. This reflects respect for the peoples living in this country and we are maintaining a unique relationship - said the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to BiH H.E. Eldar Hasanov.

He also said that Azerbaijan has good relations with both the FBiH and the Republic of Srpska, and therefore Banja Luka is going to host a joint business forum aimed at attracting good investors.

I am grateful to the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik and Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic for creating conditions for a legal, lawful, clear and transparent image of what is happening here - said the Ambassador of Azerbaijan H.E. Eldar Hasanov.

He pointed out that the implementation of an Azeri donation to the Geriatric Center Banja Luka was going to start soon. Identical donation shall be implemented in Mostar, and construction of a school for poor-sighted children is underway in Sarajevo.

In addition to the donation for the Geriatric Center, cooperation is also planned in the health sector in the Republic of Srpska, as well as economic cooperation.

- This way we are opening a new page in our relations. By this I mean investment projects, participation in privatization in BiH and Republic of Srpska. Today we saw a series of good presentations and I hope we shall soon be able to see well implemented projects – concluded Ambassador Hasanov.

The Republic of Srpska entered the donation project for the Geriatric Center with Azerbaijan, which is a good basis for further economic cooperation. We remain available to all investors at all times for explanations of legal possibilities, investment opportunities or business registration project, as we have done today for the investors from Azerbaijan and China.
